How To Express Your Romantic Side

romantic

So you don’t think you’re a romantic? Think again.

If you’ve ever enjoyed your partner’s reaction after doing something that pleased her, you’re a romantic.

If you like hearing an occasional love song on the radio, then you’re a romantic.

So if there are a lot of guys out there who are romantics at heart, why do women think men are clueless about romanticism?

The truth is that although they may have romantic feelings, they feel awkward about romantic expression. You have to remember that your partner isn’t asking you to express these feelings to the world at large, just to her.

To be a romantic, you must do things that will give her a little happiness. Your romantic act should have some surprise or unpredictability to it. But this isn’t always true. For example, you and your partner could work together to plan a romantic get away.

So now that you know that there’s a romantic deep inside you, you might as well put it to good use and make your woman happy. Some tips on expressing the romantic side that you know you have:

1.) Show love in lots of little ways. For example, try coming up from behind and grabbing and kissing her. Or leaving little love notes in places where she’s likely to find them. Put some of the notes in a book that she’s currently reading or in a favorite magazine of hers.

Is she going to do some traveling without you (on a business trip or seeing her parents)? Try hiding a gift wrapped box of chocolates with a note at the bottom of her luggage case where she’ll find it later on her trip.

2.) Try shaking up the old routine that both of you are locked into now. The start of a relationship is normally associated with romance because so much change is happening to both of you. Your involvement with her at the beginning was a big departure from your normal routine. It was exhilarating and new or in other words, it was romantic.

Those exciting times of newness can be reawakened by sharing new experiences together again. Don’t take her out on the same old dates that you always do. Go through your local newspaper for events and things that you’ve never tried before and do them. Be sure that you’re always trying out a new thing or activity.

3.) Give her a good surprise with something truly exceptional. Present her with a romance novel that stars the two of you as the main characters. The hard way to do this is to write the novel yourself.

But you could do it the easy way by downloading a romance novel that has an expired copyright (is in the public domain). You can do an automated search and replace operation with a text editor that substitutes the names of the two main characters (lovers) with your names. Print out your romance novel and have it bound with a hard cover.

To get your romance novel in the public domain, search for “romance novels” +”public domain” at Google. The downloads should be free.

To bind the book with a hard cover, search for “bind a book” at Google. You will find plenty of tutorials for doing it yourself and plenty of book binding services.

These are just a few of endless ways of giving your partner the gift of romance. What I’ve suggested here is only a small fraction of the many ways to be romantic. Just work at it and it’ll get easy with time.
